Umeed Partnership Pakistan (UPP) is a Non-Governmental, Non-Profit, Non-Commercial, Non-Political voluntary organization having a broad vision to render its social, democratic and human rights services irrespective of caste, creed, or gender. UPP was established in 2000 with likeminded group of people of Baluchistan who dedicated their heart and soul to work for the welfare of the people who are poor, needy, suffering, disadvantaged, destitute, depressed, disabled oppressed, weaker section of people from rural, tribal, slums, sub-urban, urban areas. UPP was registered under Societies Act 1860 with registration # 764 on 18 April 2001 at Quetta and it is entitled to work nationwide. It is also registered in the UK as a charity The group increasingly became aware that the women of this region received almost no education and do not know even their human basic rights.. This meant that the human potential of 50% of the population was unrealized –a tragic waste of talent. Thus UPP gradually expanded and evolved into a women’s support body to provide help to women who are illiterate, ignorance of their basic human rights, victims of abduction, rape, forced conversion, forced marriages, widowhood, disease, domestic/gender violence, sexual harassment and gender discrimination. UPP mainly works for the empowerment and promotion and protection of human rights of women, children and transgender. Though UPP was started by both male and female members but now it is headed and run by women and most of the decision making roles are held by women.
